Hey, I actually remembered this week! :)

I've been doing some editing and rewriting on one of my Savifrost fics "Waiting for Tomorrow" so I thought I'd share a little snippet of the scene I'm currently working on. For context, this story takes place in an AU version of the season three finale, in which Savitar and Frost are redeemed. This specific scene takes place in the first chapter, after the big fight/confrontation in the woods, when the heroes gather in STAR Labs to discuss Savitar's fate.

Her eyes met his for a brief moment and she looked both sad and accepting. Her lips quirked up into a bittersweet smile. And then she left him.

It wasn’t even the dramatic moment he felt the situation probably warranted. She was simply… gone.

The cool tones and diamond edges of Frost melted into the warm honey and softness of Caitlin. The eyes staring back at him were open and honest in a way Frost (and himself) could never afford to be. The air in the room warmed in the absence of the cryo-meta, but it still somehow sent a chill to his heart.

Caitlin approached gently. Her eyes held so much kindness — and a little too much understanding — and it all felt so horribly wrong. He hated the compassion flowing off her in suffocating waves. Frost had never looked at him with compassion, only the sort of kinship born from shared pain.

And that was exactly when it hit him.

He was alone.
