WIP Update
Dec. 13th, 2021 09:04 pmWell, I feel like I made good progress on "Road To War" during NaNoWriMo this year. This story is over 12k words at this point and the plot outline is coming along nicely. At least I have a good direction of the story right now and I've got my beginning and end points figured out, now it's just the challenge of mapping out everything that comes between lol.
I've made a few changes to what I'd initially envisioned for this story. First, I'm going to be incorporating a lot of elements from the comics for this. I want it still set in the DCAMU world, so everything will have to be tweaked to fit with that canon, but I want to try bringing in a lot of the comics storylines and characters and plot points. Guardian and Dubbilex are going to be there for sure (I've already written the scene where they first meet him, and have dubbed it "two aces adopt son" in my plot outline lmao) as will most of the other Cadmus characters. Also, I can't decide what to call Superboy in this fic. Kon feels right, since it will be focusing on his early days and his association with Cadmus, but they already said at the end of Reign of the Supermen that he was named Conner. I'll have to debate that a little bit and figure out which feels more right.
Anyway, "Road to War" is going into the closet for a while. I'm burnt out after the rush of NaNo and feel like I need to relax and work on other fics for now. It'll be back when I'm ready to tackle it again.
