I actually remembered this week! Yay! ;)
So, for WIP Wednesday this week I decided to post a little snippet from a Clois fic that I've had in my projects folder for over two years now. Not because it's a long or involved project, but simply because I've never had the time or motivation to sit down and finish the thing. I'm working on catching up with Superman & Lois now, though, so I hope it will reignite my desire to write for this fandom and maybe then I can sit down and finish all the incomplete S&L fics sitting around my computer.
Anyway, here's the snippet:
He tried to turn his face away from her, but she reached out and gently grabbed his chin between her fingers, forcing his eyes to meet hers. The grip wasn't tight -- not that it would have mattered regardless. They both knew he could pull away if he tried.
He didn't try.
For all of his power, the one thing he'd never been able to do was resist her. Everyone believed his strength came from the sun. They were wrong. His superpowers came from the sun. His strength came from Lois.
And right now he needed that strength. He needed to let go and know that someone would catch him when he came crashing down to earth.
For just tonight, he needed to not be Superman.
Lois smiled sadly, her fingers moving from his chin to cup his cheek gently. One thumb brushed away a stray tear as she nodded wordlessly. She understood. He didn't have to explain. She always understood.
