Notes: This was supposed to be a triple drabble, but I couldn't seem to trim off those extra 13 words. Part three of my October fanworks challenge. Prompts used this time: Cozytober "Wrapped in a soft fuzzy blanket" | Sweet & Spooky Halloween "Cuddling" | Flufftober "Wait you love me?" / "Always have."
"I take it back. This isn't so bad."
Lois sighed deeply in content, curled in tight against her husband's side with her head resting comfortably on his chest. Her favorite fuzzy blanket was tucked in tight around her. They'd thrown a few extra blankets over the both of them for good measure, even though Clark probably didn't need them.
"You say that now," Clark said, "but by morning you're going to be losing your mind over not being able to work on your article."
The power outage had started not long after dinner. Now it was almost midnight and there was no word on how soon the electric company would have power restored. Clark had, of course, listened in on the repair efforts in case there was anything he could do to assist, but he told Lois it was unfortunately something only trained professionals could help with.
"At least it's only October," Clark commented. "Imagine trying to keep this apartment warm during the dead of winter with no electricity."
"Don't be silly. If this happened during the winter, I would fully expect you to fly me somewhere warm and sunny."
"That feels a bit like cheating."
"What's the point of being married to Superman if I don't get to take advantage of the perks every once in a while?"
Clark chuckled, the deep rumble in his chest made louder by Lois's ear still pressed against him. She tilted her head to look up at him, his face outlined by the glow of the candles they'd lit around the apartment.
"I love you, Smallville," she said, tracing a finger over his jawline. "Just in case you need the reminder."
His eyes softened and smile warmed, even as he joked, "Wait, you love me? When did that happen?"
Lois shifted so she could lean up for a kiss. "Always have," she whispered against his lips.
