This week's prompt is in your shoes.

Your response should be exactly 100 words long. You do not have to include the prompt in your response -- it is meant as a starting place only. Please use the tag "prompt: #445 - in your shoes" with your response.

Please put your drabble under a cut tag if it contains potential triggers, mature or explicit content, or spoilers.

Hope everyone finds a minute to write something today, or has an excellent break if not :D

[community profile] fancake is a thematic recommendation community where all members are welcome to post recs, and fanworks of all shapes and sizes are accepted. Check out the community guidelines for the full set of rules.

This theme runs for the entire month. If you have any questions, just ask!

Hey, come on in and pull up a chair. :3 Welcome to [community profile] comment_fic. I'm [personal profile] creepy_shetan, your host this (abruptly too warm and humid, oh no) week.

Today's theme is shapes and colors. Prompts can feature anything about one, the other, or both. How artistic and mathematical the visual is, is up to you. Feel free to be as specific or as vague as you like.

Feel free to add specifics to your prompts, like whether you'd prefer a gen fill over something shippy, or if you have a squick or trigger you hope to avoid. Original fiction, fanfiction, and fanfic crossovers are always welcome. ~_^

Just a few rules:
No more than five prompts in a row.
No more than three prompts in the same fandom.
Use the character's full names and the fandom's full name
No spoilers in prompts for a month after airing, or use the spoiler cut option found here. Unfortunately, DW doesn’t have a cut tag, so use your best judgment when it comes to spoilers.
If your fill contains spoilers, warn and leave plenty of space, or use the above-mentioned spoiler cut.

Prompts should be formatted as follows: [Use the character's full names and fandom's full name]
Fandom, Character +/ Character, Prompt

Some examples to get things started...
+ any TV fandom, any (+/ any), doodling hearts and stars in the margins of their notebook
+ any Tolkien/Middle-earth fandom, anyone who could use a break, lying on lush, green grasses under fluffy, white clouds
+ author's choice, any (+/ any), that freaking "S" that every kid in American K-12 schools learns how to draw

We are on AO3! If you fill a prompt and post it to AO3, please add it to the Bite Sized Bits of Fic from 2025 collection. See further notes on this option here.

Not feeling any of today’s prompts? You can use LJ’s advanced search options to limit keyword results to only comments in this community. Fret not, DW members; we are working on a way to search through old entries for prompts for you! As of right now, the best way to search for a lonely prompt on DW is to search the community’s archive, which can be found [[HERE]].

While the use of LJ's advanced search and DW’s archive are options, bookmarking the links of prompts you like might work better for searching in the future.

As a friendly reminder about our schedule, Lonely Prompts and sharing completed fills are encouraged on Sundays, while new themes and prompts are posted on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Saturdays are a Free for All day. We'll share our posts on DW and LJ for everyone's convenience. Keep an eye out for notifications!

If you have a Dreamwidth account and would feel more comfortable participating there, please feel free to do so… and spread the word! [community profile] comment_fic

Favorite fansites?!?!?

toothpastepancake: (primary 3x10)
I just made a fansite dedicated to a specific topic and I was wondering if anyone had any favorite fandom-specific personal websites, or complex shrines you've seen on the indie/small web?

Here are some cool ones I found while looking!

It's Not Stupid (Invader Zim) NOTE: There is a fast moving gif on this page
Channel 27 (Weird Al)
Dan & Phil games NOTE: way too many flashing gifs on this page, but still very cool

EDIT: I wrote this at 5AM and forgot the indie web movement is new. I’m looking for fansites of any age!

Happy Pride Month! Pride Bingo Fest will run from June 1st to 30th. This is my first time hosting, so please forgive any goofs. 😅

For the sake of max inclusion (and honestly, because I'm kind of a pride flag/identity nerd) I've made three seperate lists - one each for a broad mix of identities, one for aspec (asexual spectrum, aromantic spectrum, etc) terms, and one for general pride experiences and themes. There's a community card for each list and one mixed. Since ace and aro term defintiions tend to be the same save being applied to different types of attraction, I've paired them together. Feel free to use either or both.

If you need more info on anything, LGBTQIA+ Wiki is a great source. I'm no graphic artist, but I'll do my best to make some little banners for people who finish.

As a reminder, here's the bingo card generator, and here's the allbingo AO3 collection.

Have fun! 🏳️‍🌈

3x3 card is here. I made my own card using Magibrain's generator, choosing my own prompts. My goal is to at least get a line for the month of June, but I'm hoping my productivity will be enough for a blackout!

June: 10 out of 20

prisca: (sweet short mod small)
Our first challenge in June:

10 out of 20

Under the cut, you will find a list with 20 prompts. Your mission is to grab at least 10 of them and create a little something for it. Keep in mind, even if it is not the meaning of the challenge, no one will punish you when you only grab one or two prompts. Every work is welcome.

To complete the challenge, you can create up to ten single works, or combine one or more prompts in one work.

Allowed are fics up to 500 words, small poems like haiku or tanka, icons (100x100 px), and small graphics up to 500 px width x height. Please stay to the maximum, even if you use more than one prompt in your work.

All fandoms, genres, and ratings are welcome, as are original works and real-person works.

When posting directly to [community profile] sweetandshort, please use a header of your choice and put bigger works under a cut. You can also post your work at any other place, but please leave a header and a link here to keep the community running.

Please tag your work with any appropriate tag.

This challenge runs until June 30, midnight in your timezone.
