Sometimes, she still felt him. Hera wasn't sure how much was wishful thinking and how much was reality, but she felt it all the same.
Sometimes, a reassuring touch on the shoulder as she braced herself to head into battle. A vague sense of companionship beside her as she proudly watched Jacen take his first steps. A comforting presence in the middle of the night when she couldn't sleep and the stress of the war was too much. Once, the sound of his laughter carried on the breeze when Chopper was being particularly exasperating.
There was a lot about the Force that Hera didn't understand. She wanted to ask Ahsoka. She wanted to find out whether it was her imagination or not. But then, part of her really didn't want to know the answer.
In the end, it probably didn't matter. He was here with them and always would be. That much she knew without having to understand the Force at all. And that was enough.
