My ADHD tends to dictate my fandom habits, and my current hyperfixation tends to jump around a lot. That being said, there still quite a few fandoms that I keep coming back to and will always hold a special place in my life. Here's a list of some of my forever fandoms and current obsessions.
(For a list of my favorite characters/ships, see this post)
Forever Fandoms
Star Trek - Mostly ENT and TNG, but I also really enjoy TOS and VOY. I've seen the reboot movies and am fairly neutral towards them. Just about to start watching Strange New Worlds, so I might be adding that to this list if it goes well lol.
Stargate Atlantis - This is one of my favorite shows and I probably have every episode memorized at this point. My favorite character is Rodney McKay, but all the characters are special to me. In my fanfics, I have a tendency to focus on the background and side characters, especially Lorne and his team. I love the friendship between McKay and Shepherd and have a few hundred fics about them bookmarked so if you ever want a rec, just ask!
Stargate SG1 - Less passionate about this show than Atlantis, but I still enjoy it quite a bit. I have the unpopular opinion that seasons 9 and 10 are actually really fun, no bashing of Mitchell's team is allowed in this space. Daniel/Vala have stolen my heart. Jonas Quinn deserved better.
Farscape - Aah, I cannot possibly express how much I love this insane wacky little show. It is so completely unique and there will never be anything like it again. The entire Moya crew are very special to me, they are such a messed up little family and they deserve the world.
DC Comics - I mostly read Superfamily titles and, to a lesser degree, the Batfamily as well. Dick Grayson/Nightwing is my favorite comic book character and overall favorite superhero. My favorite era is 90's comics, because those are the ones I grew up with. My OTP forever is Clois (Clark/Lois) and that is 90% of what I've written for this fandom so far lol.
Star Wars - I mostly became a fan of Star Wars through reading a lot of the EU/Legends books, so that's mostly what I tend to consider canon in my fanfics and also in my heart. Favorite SW movies are Return of the Jedi and Revenge of the Sith. Really, really love the Clone Wars and Rebels cartoons. Also, the Jedi Apprentice books by Jude Watson are special to me.

what kind of Animation are you into?

Date: 2024-01-03 04:46 am (UTC)From:Agreed! The 1954 Gojira movie is what got me hooked on that genre of movies. I actually haven't seen Them! but I'll definitely add it to my watch list.
I'm personally learning 2D digital animation. But I love cell animation and studying everything I can about how that process worked and the behind-the-scenes of some of those movies. I appreciate that we now have a much more simplified process for 2D animation, but I just have so much respect for the artists that worked in cell animation back in the day. They did such incredible work.
